Íberus Campus of International Excellence

Agriculture and nutrition, sustainable energy, technology at the service of public health and cultural heritage conservation – these are the four areas of specialization of the proposed Íberus Campus of International Excellence (CEI) in the Ebro Valley which, if approved by the Spanish government, will unite research efforts in these areas from the University of Lleida, the University of Zaragoza, the Public University of Navarra and the University of La Rioja. Total investment for this project is projected at €190 million, of which €54 million will be funded by Spain’s central government if it approves the project.

The Generalitat of Catalonia announces the winners of its Environment Awards

Catalonia’s Councilor of the Environment and Housing Francesc Baltasar delivered last week the Generalitat’s Environment Award to Dr. Josep Vigo, Professor of Botany at the University of Barcelona (UB), in recognition of his career-long dedication to the protection and improvement of the environment in the field of botany. Also in the field of Waste Reduction and Recycling Actions, the Generalitat awarded the work of the Food Bank Foundation for its more than 20 years fighting food waste.
