On Friday 12 March at the Institute of Catalan Studies, organized by the Catalan Institute of Natural History as part of the Working Group Catalan Society of Nature Photographers, a meeting was held to discuss the major shift that Internet has brought for entomology. José Manuel Sesma, entomologist, photographer and in charge of the Virtual Insectarium portal explained how the work of specialized photographers and amateurs, in collaboration with scientists, can now quote and sort the bugs in online databases, which is more accessible and easier to see than the collections of insects pricked with needles and labelled, which even now could seem not to be very correct.
