As part of the fifth edition of the Tech Summer Sessions taking place in Barcelona until early July, yesterday, June 15, the two-day-long MIT Conference came to a close. The second day of the meeting consisted of an intense session centered on the major Catalan as well as international technological projects in the fields of energy, water and transport. Apart from these three themes, the protagonist of the day, both in terms of the challenges it presents and its transversal characteristics, was the theme of technological developments in the field of energy. The Catalan Councilor for Innovation, Universities and Business Josep Huguet was in charge of bringing down the curtain on the MIT Conference.

A conference organized by the Center for Advanced Studies of Blanes, Santa Susanna (Catalonia, Spain) discussed the need to rethink the value of biodiversity in the media and how to bring science closer to the world of communication during the first week of May.

Last Thursday, the second edition of ICREA Academia program awarded 30 Catalan researchers for their excellence and leadership. The objective of this program is to motivate, attract and retain faculty at public universities in Catalonia.

Invited to socialize in a series of lectures on ecology at the Casa Elizalde of Barcelona, Albert Cuchi, professor of architectural constructions of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), stated last 16th of March that the well understood sustainability begins within oneself and before our more immediate responsibilities. As a sample, he explained the experience of energy management of the School of Barcelona (ETSAB) and invited to do the same in every house.
