The Catalan Generalitat launches the webpage MapaTIC.cat

The main objective of the new web platform MapaTIC.cat is to become the leading directory for information and technology providers in Catalonia and become the on-line meeting center of supply and demand for information and technology professionals in Catalonia.

The website features a comprehensive and categorized directory of service providers, easily consulted via a precise search engine with multiple levels and categories. In this way, those looking for IT providers can easily and accurately find information on products and services, and open up new business opportunities for the sector.

The platform also allows for interactions among members of MapaTIC.cat, the interaction of supply and demand, and the creation of an online domestic market which will grow as the tool gains in use. A system of trust has also been set up, according to recognized parameters of 'merit'; companies that implement more content and more input into the MapaTIC.cat will, consequently, earn more visibility in the directory.

The MapaTIC.cat is, therefore, a platform of services that enhance the competitiveness of Catalonia’s IT sector to the extent that it channels the supply and demand of business as well as all the initiatives of the different actors.

The MapaTIC.cat has been developed by the Barcelona Digital Technology Center and is integrated into the actions of the plan PIMESTIC and TIC.cat, both coordinated by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society and ACC1Ó. It aims to be a powerful tool for companies, associations and institutions for the promotion of Catalan technology sector.

The MapaTIC.cat has been designed so that the companies themselves can, with more flexibility, present their proposals by detailed explanation of the services and incorporating the description of case studies or certifications available. So far, more than 800 of Catalonia’s IT suppliers have already been incorporated into the platform.
