The TIC.cat Plan has generated investment of over 65 million Euros in nine months

Since its launch in May 2009, the Plan TIC.cat Plan has generated investment exceeding 65 million Euros in the ICT sector, a figure 2.5 times the investment made in concept of aid and financing located around 30 million. These figures mean that in its first year, the TIC.cat Plan has by far exceeded the initial budget estimates in both the performances and the grants. In particular, almost € 9 million to 165 projects for Research, Development and Innovation (R & D) have been allocated. The Plan has also allocated 11 million Euros in loans to 25 technology projects.

As for the advice, more than 200 technology companies throughout Catalonia have applied the Personal Care Services offered by the TIC.cat Plan. It is a contact point that the administration makes available to ICT companies to facilitate access to programs that are promoted, dealing with questions and advice through individual action plans. Its mission is to analyze the business model and management of the company requesting the service, its market position and future challenges within its business, recommend technical improvements that could be implemented to optimize the service offered, and raise awareness of the tools that the TIC.cat Plan itself offers.

At the level of information and awareness, so far about 40 TIC.cat days have been done around all the Catalan regions that have benefited from the presence of more than 3,500 entrepreneurs. The Plan has had a presence and echo through the network, as its website has over 4,000 visits per month and their social networks count with more than 1,000 followers.

During this period the plan of training and certification of the Tic.cat has also been launched, which, with great acceptance by the industry, it has counted with nearly 600 participants over 40 training courses and certification courses in methodologies of internationally recognized quality.
 
Moreover, the initiatives in the field of internationalization of the TIC.cat Plan with the participation of over 200 companies in the IT and electronics sector in various projects and services such as counselling and training, the presence at international fairs, the export groups, units of supply or enterprise platforms. In the same line, it continues to boost the presence of Catalan companies at international events taking place in our country, such as the Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona in mid of last February.

Finally, highlighting the creation of the commission TIC.cat, with the participation of 18 business organizations, 14 colleges and professional institutes, 11 universities and 17 technology centres and facilitating entities. The committee has been constituted as an instrument of coordination and participation of TIC.cat Plan partners, aiming to improve communication and collaboration between different agents involved in the development of the Catalan ICT sector.
