CETIR and the PCB sign an agreement to facilitate mutual exchange of knowledge and technology

The Barcelona Science Park Foundation and CETIR Medical Group have signed a cooperation agreement to initiate scientific, technical and innovation exchanges in any area, especially those related to the different fields of medical imaging. In the signing of the agreement the following took part: the general director of the Barcelona Science Park Foundation, Fernando Albericio, and the CEO of Medical Group CETIR Jose Costanso Llesuy.

The development of this initial collaboration will be established through an annual program to be developed by mutual agreement and which provides, amongst other objectives, the joint organization of promoting activities of research and science, of the exchange of research materials, scientific documents and publications, organization of visits for researchers and professionals and facilitating the access of
CETIR to the technological platforms of the PCB, as well as for staff working on the platforms in the CETIR facilities. To facilitate the identification of issues of mutual interest in the field of research, both institutions have agreed to regularly exchange information on scientific initiatives being carried out in addition to those already done.

As stated in the agreement, each institution will designate a coordinator to oversee the development of cooperation with the work of proposing and activate specific agreements or contracts under the program of activities it decides to promote. Coordinators also draw up a balance of the actions to be submitted to the respective scientific authorities.

Under this agreement, CETIR has also signed another cooperation agreement with the
GAEM Foundation (Group Affected by Multiple Sclerosis), located in the Barcelona Science Park, to facilitate those affected by this disease, its materials and human resources , by conducting free imaging diagnosis and monitoring of multiple sclerosis patients who, because of their economic status, cannot bear the costs.

CETIR Medical Group includes a group of companies engaged in Health Services dedicated to Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine. Its mission is to provide system diagnostics technology with maximum guarantee of professional skills and operational excellence. It currently has a staff of 400 people spread over 20 centres. Each day it cares for 1,500 patients.
