Analyze your eating habits

Ribefood is a computer program, developed jointly by the University Rovira i Virgili and the University of Barcelona, which allows users to know the health risks (environmental pollutants) and benefits (nutrients) of their diet

Ribefood is an interesting and interactive tool that optimizes nutritional habits in a personalized way. Upon entering the website, you must indicate your weekly intact of eight different food groups in addition to your age, weight and sex.

Once you have specified your diet, the program responds by offering two types of data. First, it tells you the amount of nutrients (calories, proteins, lipids, fatty acids, cholesterol, fiber, etc.) you are eating and warns you if you are eating less than the recommended amounts.

Second, the program informs you of the amount of pollutants (dioxins, lead, mercury, hexachlorobenzene, etc.) in your diet and warns you if your intake exceeds the recommended levels.

From this information, you can review your dietary habits. In addition, Ribefood allows users to play "What if ...?" to see how we can improve our health.

Ribefood has been developed by a team led by Josep Lluís Domingo, a toxicologist at the University Rovira i Virgili (URV), and Joan M. Llobet, a toxicologist at the University of Barcelona (UB).
