Dental ecology of hominids and primates

The Evolution of Hominids and Other Primates Studies group at the University of Barcelona keeps a blog where it presents its research results


Teeth provide a surprising amount of information about our ancestors. So much so that a team of scientists from the Evolution of Hominids and Other Primates Studies group at the University of Barcelona (UB) has created a blog about the dental ecology of hominids and primates where it publishes its research results in this field.

This group is dedicated primarily to the study of the diet of our ancestors from micro-wear dental patterns, using present-day primates as a model. They also discuss other aspects of dental ecology, such as occlusal or interproximal tooth wear and dental morphology and adaptations
