Loop Barcelona, the video art festival

The city of Barcelona will host the Loop Festival, the international fair dedicated to the art of the moving image till May 22.. The event will bring together a thousand new and surprising proposals from the world of video art.

13 may 2010

The Loop Festival will transform the center of Barcelona into a showcase of video art. It involves hundreds of locations in the city (from museums to shops) and counts on the participation of numerous artists, curators, schools, institutions, art centers, production centers, distributors and universities.

The concept behind the format that encompasses the city is to create a open space where professionals of the field can meet and establish local, national and international connections that will facilitate collective answers to their needs and new reflections on their art. Each year specific projects are developed, such as the International Universities Program or the International Festivals Program.

Artists such as Jef Cornelis, Hannah Collins, Miquel Barceló, Marina Abramovic, Chen Chieh-Jen, Vasco Araújo, Marcus Kreiss, Qiu Anxiong, Eulalia Valldosera, Bill Viola, Tacita Dean, Cristina Lucas, John Baldessari, Alexander Kluge, Richard T. Walker, Eva Davidova, Isabel Coixet, Anne-Lise Coste, Michael Snow and Perejaume will exhibit their latest works at this year’s edition of Loop.
