From tomorrow one can visit in Barcelona at the CosmoCaixa the exhibition Abracadabra. Illusionism and science that seeks to explain in a scientific and practical way how magicians 'cheat' our senses making us perceive illusions of reality

Our brain perceives reality through all the senses at once, before a plate of food, we see, we smell, taste and touch the food. It is our brain who composes and arranges these stimuli and informs us of the sensations we receive.

For centuries magicians have shown to have an extraordinary wisdom about how our brain can convert something it perceives into an illusion through the sense. This ability allows us to explore how magicians manage that their games seem a conspiracy against the laws of physics and logic.

An illusion is to create a reality of low probability, science and technology can be put at the service of a fabric of illusions, and here is where all scientific disciplines intervene: psychology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, etc.

The visitor of CosmoCaixa will be able to test how his brain invents reality, he will be able to experiment with the illusions that the sense create and will be able to do games directed by Juan Tamariz himself.
