Within the schedule of the 14th African Film Festival of Barcelona, the film The Absence from Mama Keita will be presented, who talks about the brain drain in Africa, through the story of one of many young Africans that are going to study abroad, often never to return.

After completing his successful studies in France and after a prolonged absence of fifteen years, Adama, a young polytechnic, rushes back to Senegal, his country, when he receives a telegram telling him of the illness of his grandmother. Orphaned, he and his sister were raised by their grandmother. But the telegram is false and the grandmother is fine. All await the return of the prodigal son. His short stay will revive a family drama that seemed forgotten ...
