History tell us that Pythagoras made the first attempt to establish a direct link between music and mathematics. Since then, many mathematicians have tried to tighten the cords between both worlds. One of them, Leibniz, went on to say that music is a form of counting without realizing it. Pythagoras spoke of the “music of the spheres,” and the talk will enter this “spheres of music” to see how, from the calculation with fractions and with a few drops of harmony, we can construct the musical scale. All this with a little musical accompaniment.
