Conference on Science Communication 2.0 held at the University of Girona

The second edition of the Conference on Scientific Communication 2.0, organized by the Department of Scientific Culture and Digital Communication of the University of Girona, will get under way on May 21 at 15:30 in the university’s Science and Technology Park.

The invited speakers will be Javier Armentia of the Pamplonetario in Pamplona, Spain, who will review communication policies of museums in relation to web 2.0; Iñaki de la Torre of the popular science magazine QUO, who will discuss the relationship between the written and digital scientific media; and Alberto Fernandez, blogger and one of the creators of Docuciencia, who will review multimedia science, from rationalism to education. Additionally, Michele Catanzaro of Global Talent (Talència), will talk about innovation and science communication, and Ernest Redondo will make a foray into the new forms of communication that will lead to augmented reality.

The one-day conference will conclude with a roundtable discussion with speakers and other scientific communicators debating the subject “Science 2.0.1” followed by a workshop that will work on bringing together science with web 2.0.
