Roger Guimerà was born in Barcelona in 1976. In 1998, he graduated in Physics from the University of Barcelona and in 2003 he earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University Rovira i Virgili. His postgraduate training includes a stay at Northwestern University in the United States, where he specialized in complex biochemical networks. On returning to Catalonia, he became an ICREA researcher.
The Catalan Research Prize that Guimerà received on September 28th at the Palau de la Generalitat was given in recognition of his scientific achievements and endowed with 10,000 euros.
