An international study contradicts the views of some experts, according to which rising temperatures associated with climate change will mean an uncontrollable outbreak of malaria

A team of British and American scientists set out to discover a method to prevent the parasites of the Plasmodium genus, which transmit malaria, from infecting human cells. However, they eventually found the opposite: a method for trapping the parasites within the infected cells, thereby preventing the infection from spreading.

A team of experts from the World Health Organization and UNICEF have analyzed the death records of 193 countries and found that, although child mortality has declined worldwide during the last decade, a full six million children die annually from infectious diseases, many of which are easily treatable.
