The Catalan Institute of Oncology incorporates the world's most advanced radiotherapy equipment

The Catalan Institute of Oncology has incorporated the most modern linear accelerator in the world for radiation treatment into its center in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, located near Barcelona. The device is the second of its kind that has been installed in Europe (the other is in Zurich), and third in the world after the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York acquired one last spring.

The expression of the 'BRCA1' gene influences towards a better breast cancer prognosis

A study by the Medical Oncology Service of the ICO Badalona concludes that a low expression of the 'BRCA1' gene in breast cancer patients with the sporadic type is associated with a better prognosis of the disease.
