Development of a new more efficient catalyst to produce clean hydrogen

Researchers from the Instituto de Tecnología Química (a mixed centre of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Superior Council of Scientific Research – CSIC) have developed a new catalyst with which to obtain clean hydrogen of high purity and high energy efficiency from bioethanol. Hydrogen is a source of energy for the future due to its low environmental impact. The finding is a new step towards the sustainable production of hydrogen and its use in fuel batteries, amongst other application, buses, trains or trams.
